Air Mauritius flight MK17 is a routine scheduled flight between Paris CDG and Port Louis, with the affected rotation being operated by 3B-NBP.

As per data from Planespotters.net, 3B-NBP is a 6.3 year old Airbus A350-900 that was delivered to the carrier back in October 2017.

Of the A350-900 variant, the airline has four of them in the fleet, of which all are in active service, and hold an average fleet age of 5.2 years.

Air Mauritius flight MK17 departed Paris CDG at 0205 local time this morning and proceeded in a south-easterly direction to Port Louis.

Upon reaching Italian airspace, the aircraft made a u-turn back to the French capital, whilst squawking the 7700 general emergency code.

The aircraft landed into CDG without incident at 0541 local time this morning, with the aircraft still there at the time of writing (1250 UK time).

At this stage, it is unclear what the nature of the emergency was, and it is also unclear when 3B-NBP will be back in the skies again following this incident.

Once we have found out the nature of the emergency, then we will update the article accordingly to keep you up to date with everything going on.

But for now, this emergency remains a developing story until we have acquired such updates.
