Driving has always been associated with stress during rush hour, and with relaxation over long routes with little or no traffic. However, the recent study suggests that the negative impact of commuting goes beyond mere traffic-related stress.

Within this sector, light-duty vehicles, primarily passenger cars, account for a staggering 58% of the total air pollution. Even the shift towards electric vehicles, considered a greener alternative, falls short of being the most efficient way to get around.
